Deep Tissue Massage 

Deep tissue is a form of massage that focuses on releasing the deeper myofascial restrictions of the deeper muscles, tendons and ligaments of the body. This is also sometimes referred to as a myofascial release. Deep tissue massage is a specific massage, using a variety of pressure and incorporates trigger points, pulsing and stretching techniques to work below the superficial connective tissue. The aim of this treatment is to loosen muscle fibres that have become stuck or stiffened into one position this could happen if you are in a constant hunched position while sitting at your desk for a long amount of time, or just could be a simple case of tension accumulating in your back neck and shoulders. 

Many people tend to have held in and hold on to patterns of tension this may be by emotional stress or physical activities. This then often leaves you feeling depleted in energy, reduced flexibility and restricted mobility, a dull ache, poor posture, tension headaches, migraine, fatigue and head fog.

The key to your successful therapy session is communication with regard to the pressure, everyone is different but the pressure can be adjusted to help produce maximum benefits. This is a skilled therapy that puts pressure on the right points and follows the muscle to unravel knots and enables a more efficient circulation helping to carry the blood, oxygen and nutrients around the body.

After a Deep Tissue Massage, you will feel has if you have been worked upon but also at the same time you will feel relaxed due to tension being released. You may experience a little tenderness but all perfectly normal and the pressure will be kept to what you are comfortable with.
